NOVEMBER 21 - BOREALIS FUNDRAISNG GALA AND CD LAUNCH!!
Please join us on Saturday, November 21st, for a gala fundraising celebration of the Borealis Quartet at Green College, UBC, featuring the launch of their newest CD. This is the very first album the Borealis has recorded on their priceless Italian instruments - Lorenzo Storioni violin, c 1780 Cremona, Giovanni Battista Rogeri violin, 1698 Cremona, Pietro Giovanni Mantegazza viola, 1791 Milano, Lorenzo Storioni cello, 1778 Cremona - provided to the quartet through the generosity of the CHIMEI Cultural Foundation.
This unique celebration will feature special performances by the Borealis on their stunning instruments, delicious food and a cash bar, VIP guests and other special surprises, and the award of the first annual Borealis Chamber Music Award to a leading Vancouver champion of chamber music. In addition, a silent auction will offer you an opportunity to bid on many special prizes.
Donations at the door are in lieu of admission ($25 minimum suggested). Tax receipts will also be issued for all donations. Bring your business cards for a door prize!
The Borealis Quartet is fresh back from their highly successful New York debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, part of an extensive North American tour, and will depart soon for a return tour of Asia with performances in Japan, China and Taiwan.
